Since I'm so vocal about the impending growth of AR, I thought I'd do the decent thing and start to build a comprehensive list of use cases, for general perusal.
Mobile AR will lead growth over the next 12 - 18 months, which is why most of these are Mobile base case studies. But there are a few OOH installation pieces too, that tease the potential of augmenting outdoor and traditional OOH.
If you want to use these examples as a way of assessing and learning what's good, poor or unnecessary use of AR, try filtering through these 2 simple questions:
1. Could they have used any other media or tech to achieve the same result? If so, would it have been easier, more cost effective, or more engaging?
2. What type of Return has the brand earned: commercial, emotional, social or informational?
